Logging into Panopto to view shared videos

Overview

This article will cover what to do in the event that a Panopto video has been shared with you in Courseweb, but you are unable to view it. This typically occurs when a student has content shared to their account by an instructor, but they have never logged into the main Panopto site.

Logging into Panopto

  1. First, sign out of Courseweb or my.pitt.edu
  2. Navigate to pitt.hosted.panopto.com
  3. Look to the top right-hand corner of the page, click the blue “Sign in” button
  4. You should now see a login dialog box that looks like this:
  5. Make sure that “Pitt-Courseweb” is selected from the drop down menu
  6. Click “Sign in” again
  7. This should take you to the Pitt Passport page
  8. Login to Pitt Passport
  9. Go back to the video in Courseweb and verify that the video plays
